Other Information (website address, etc.): Close to home, Sahuaro Ranch and Manistee Ranch are little islands of the past amid suburbia.  We’ll start our morning at https://www.glendaleaz.com/live/amenities/parks_facilities_trails/special_facilities/manistee_ranch_park 52nd Ave. and Northern.  (Take Olive to 52nd and then south) The Ranch house was built in 1897 and is beautifully restored and preserved.  Manistee boasts a rose arbor, old date palm trees, and some vintage farm equipment.  From there we’ll travel north to Sahuaro Ranch Sahuaro Ranch Park - City of Glendale https://www.glendaleaz.com/live/amenities/parks_facilities_trails/regional_parks/sahuaro_ranch_park 9802 North 59th Avenue.  The huge rose garden should be blooming.  In addition to old buildings including the ranch house, there’s a citrus grove, a quaint foot bridge, a flock of peacocks and hens that might be courting.  Next door at the community library is a cactus garden that may provide some flowers to shoot.  Picnic tables under the palms offer shade for a picnic lunch (if you packed one) before we go home.
