Madera Canyon / Grab & Go

Madera Canyon: 2 days 1 night

Madera Canyon is a canyon in the northwestern face of the Santa Rita Mountains, twenty-five miles southeast of Tucson, Arizona. As part of the Coronado National Forest, Madera Canyon has campsites, picnic areas, and miles of hiking trails. Handicap accessible gentle walking paths to steep expert trails.... something for everyone. It is the third best birding area in the United States. Many other forms of wildlife are to be seen in the area. There are 4 zones in the canyon from cactus lower in elevation to fir trees higher up. A varied choice of landscape possibilities available.

We will leave from the Sundial @ 9AM. on the 25th and travel 2 1/2 -3 hours to Green Valley

Stay at the Best Western.... We have reserved 5 rooms @ $128.00 for one night / 2 queen beds.... sign up on the sign up roster & we will verify you have one of these beds..... no need for you call ahead!

After signing in we will go to the Santa Rita Lodge to shoot Humming birds that feed there. (bring tripods) From there we will head to Madera Canyon to shoot away the day....after we will head back to the hotel for dinner. 

On the 26th we will check out and head to Tubac @ 8AM.... Tubac is a Historic arts destination. Explore the Tubac Presidio State Historic Park..... the eclectic shops and artrists...... the mission, etc. ..... head for home later in the day!
