Assignment for Critique
LEADING LINES THAT WORK. The PDF description of this assignment was sent out on Jan 2. Click HERE to download the exercise.
Exercise
Take at least two different photographs using the principles of LEADING LINES THAT WORK in this case study. Your subject can be anything and can be taken at any time of the day.
Select one or two of your best photos and bring to the meeting on a flash/thumb drive. Bring both the unprocessed image (as it came out of the camera) and the processed image with you for the meeting. When we can see both your unprocessed image as well as your processed image, we all can gain insight as to what you started with when you pressed the shutter button and the story you wanted to tell when you processed the image. Remember, there is no right or wrong here. It's your artwork and story to tell--no one elses.
Exercise Questions
- Do your leading lines direct the eyes toward the subject?
- Do your leading lines lead to the subject without overwhelming it?
- Are your leading lines easily noticable?
